julioangelortiz@gmail.com BioI originally began my blog as a way to talk about my writing (I have dreamed of being a writer since I was 10-years old), with additional sides about my hobbies with gadgets and technology. When I started, I hadn’t made my first sale but was active in the Doctor Who fan community, having written a few well-received audio dramas for SegalChord Productions as well as fan fiction for the Doctor Who Project and Doctor Who: The Legacy. Since then I have been able to expand and accomplish several goals, including making two writing sales (an audio drama script for the original sci-fi series The Dome and for an outline for the family-oriented audio drama series Tigers’ Quest) and some other paid work (including articles for Associated Content), all of which is listed on my Writing page.
It has been a difficult balance for me in writing this blog, striving to balance “personal” stories and more useful content, but I think I have finally hit a good stride in that regard. I have tried to draw on my experiences and thoughts on technology from both my career (as a Network Engineer) and a gadget geek, as well as thoughts on writing and entertainment (book, tv, movie, and comics reviews, commentary, etc.), with a dash of personal life.
